Go looking for YFG Fatso’s real name and you’ll run into a mess. One page says it’s Christopher Mosley and points to AllMusic as proof — except AllMusic doesn’t say that anywhere, not even close. Another calls him Frederick Thomas, somehow ties him to Kanye West’s GOOD Music label, throws in a few Grammy nods, and refers to him as “she” the whole way through — which is a pretty clear sign someone just recycled a template written for a completely different artist. A third page mixes him up with an esports player who happens to share the same handle. So here’s the real answer: nobody’s actually confirmed his name, him included, as far as anyone can tell.

Where This Info Comes From, and Where It Doesn’t
He’s sat down for real interviews — one covers his upbringing, how he ended up with the nickname “Fatso,” even a stretch where his Instagram got wiped. None of it gets into a legal name, and he’s never brought one up himself. That’s not unusual in Chicago drill, honestly — plenty of artists there just stay under their stage name for good. So “not known” isn’t us dodging the question. It’s just where things actually stand.
Coming Up in Chicago’s Drill Scene
He was 13 when he started putting out music, coming up alongside Lil King and YFG Chock in Chicago’s underground drill circuit. That’s the grind that eventually got him noticed outside the city.
“ScarFace” and Landing at OTF
“ScarFace” is the song that changed everything for him — dropped in 2023, blew up around Chicago fast. Around that same window he put out the EP No Privacy, and it was Lil King’s relationship with Lil Durk that opened the door to Fatso signing with Durk’s label, OTF.
A year later he released “Leavin’,” which is a real shift — more melody, more singing, way less of the rapid-fire flow he’d built his name on. “Ride with Me” kept going in that same direction. His latest full project, the mixtape Sanity Evaded, came out in 2026, and he hasn’t slowed down since — “Am I Wrong” is a newer single that HotNewHipHop covered just a couple weeks ago.
His Age and Net Worth Are Just as Murky
Ask five sites how old he is and you’ll get different birth years and different math on the same birth year — sometimes both in the same article. Net worth numbers swing just as wildly. None of it comes from him or from anyone with the sourcing to actually back it up, so none of it made it into this piece.

Conclusion
The music side of his story checks out — Chicago roots, an OTF deal, an actual run of releases people can point to. The personal stuff doesn’t, and the clearest proof of that is how badly the existing pages disagree with each other. Better to just say that than toss another guess into the pile.
