Type “Michael Cordray age” into Google and you’ll get 43, or 44, or a birth date of March 18, 1982, depending which page you land on. None of those pages say where the year comes from. Dig a little, and you find out why: it doesn’t trace back to Cordray, to a relative, to a reporter — to anyone. What we do have is his birthday. In March 2023, he and his wife Ashley announced their youngest daughter had been born on March 18, the same day as her dad. That’s the one solid thread here, and everything below builds out from what’s actually attached to it.

Why Nobody Can Actually Confirm His Age
Here’s the thing about that 1982 date — it’s everywhere, and that’s exactly why it’s suspicious. Dozens of near-identical bio pages repeat it, and when that many pages agree on a number with zero sourcing, it usually means one page guessed first and everyone else copied it. One competitor doing the same research actually admitted as much and refused to state an age at all.
The birthday’s a different animal. That came from Michael and Ashley themselves, in their own words, announcing their own kid’s birth. No guesswork involved.
Early Life and How He Met Ashley
Cordray grew up in Galveston — he’s what locals call a “BOI,” born on the island, which matters more there than it sounds like it should. Ashley’s from Spring, Texas. Both went to Texas A&M University at Galveston: Michael graduated in 2006, Ashley in 2009.
They actually met later, in Houston in 2008, while working the same corporate job — reportedly at Kirby Inland Marine, per EarnTheNecklace. Michael was doing the long commute into Houston at the time and has talked about how much that grind wore on him. He and Ashley started dating in 2011, and three months into that, she told him they were buying a house together back in his hometown. He figured she’d lose interest. She didn’t, and neither did he, apparently.
Marriage, Kids, and the Vow Renewal
They got married in 2014. Then in August 2023, Ashley posted that the two had quietly renewed their vows — nine years to the point after the first wedding.
Three daughters came out of that marriage: Elle in November 2019, Emma in May 2021, and Emory, the youngest, whose March 18 birthday is what confirms her dad’s.
From Big Texas Fix to Restoring Galveston
It started small — an eight-episode DIY Network run called Big Texas Fix in April 2019. That got rebranded Restoring Galveston and moved to Magnolia Network, where it’s now up to seven seasons, the last one wrapping in January 2025. No Season 8 has been announced as of September 2026.
Off-camera, Michael and Ashley started Save 1900 back in 2016, buying up historic Galveston houses to restore rather than flip fast. That’s grown into a small hospitality group: Cordray Drug Store, a rolled-ice-cream shop from 2022; Mansard House, a 12-room boutique hotel that got its own spinoff, Restoring Galveston: The Inn; and Local Dogs, a hot-dog stand built out of an old filling station that the couple said was close to opening in 2025.
One thing worth flagging here: Magnolia’s own episode description for the Local Dogs story mentions honoring the building’s past “as well as Michael’s late father.” That’s the network’s own copy confirming his father has died — which is more than can be said for the random death year floating around some of the smaller bio sites.
What He’s Not: Two Common Mix-Ups
Two shows people confuse him with: House Hunters and Restoration Road. He’s not on either. Restoration Road is a real Magnolia Network show, just hosted by Clint Harp, not Cordray. His only credit is Restoring Galveston, under its earlier name or its current one.
Net Worth: No Verified Number
You’ll see anything from $500,000 to $5 million thrown around. None of it comes from Michael, Ashley, or anyone with the receipts to back it up, so there’s no number worth repeating here.
Where Things Stand Now
As of this writing, Michael and Ashley are still married, still raising three daughters in Galveston, and still running Save 1900 plus the three businesses that grew out of it. Whether the show gets another season is anyone’s guess right now.
